  • Task:
    Design and plan a website that will grab attention and promote education, training and jobs


    You need to put together documents to enable you to
    • Design a website for East Cambs 16-19 year olds.
    • Grab attention and help promote education, training and job opportunities
    • Create a website that is as 'sticky' as possible to encourage repeat visits

    To complete this work, consider doing the following:
      • Produce your own mind-map that illustrates your ideas for the website.
      • Use Adobe Proto on an iPad to come up with design & layout ideas
      • Produce a navigation map - a ‘tree’ design showing how users will move around your website
      • Produce sketches of each key section—annotate and explain both content + look and feel
      • Plan out notes—on paper—to produce your ‘website specification’ documentation.

  • Task:
    LO4 is where you create your actual website for the FenWeb client. They have provided the details above and you need to implement your website using the range of skills that you've developed through the unit.

    The website you produce needs to meet the minimum requirements as shown above however, also look to include additional features - CSS tricks and features (from your Thimble work), stylish creation ideas, embedded Twitter feeds and anything else that will add value.

    However, remember the best websites are subtle, professional and high quality. Don't over-burden the site with flashing rubbii

    Distinction LO:
    • Create an interactive website to meet a client need
    • Implement CSS in an interactive website to improve the site to meet a client’s needs
    • Carry out acceptance testing with client on an interactive website

    Expected:
    You are going to submit a range of documents for LO4 - including your actual website, documentation to support your website and your explanation of your code.
